Thanks for taking time to visit our homepage. We at WELKER SPINTECH are proud of our history and contribution to the Textile Industry. Moreover, we are committed to fair engineering, producing machines that work in an environmentally correct way. Please take your time and feel free to take all needed information from the files disposed here.
About us:
WELKER was founded in 1856 by Philip Welker, and is therefore, one of the most traditional suppliers for the Textile Industry. In the early 40’s, WELKER started with the manufacturing of felt washing machines, paper processing machine lines with roller fulling and hammer die cutting machines.
Almost simultaneously, the demand for vacuum steamers arose, and in 1941 and the first generation of vacuum steaming equipment was developed and successfully introduced to the market. WELKER systems are installed world wide and are applied in all areas of heat- setting, conditioning and drying.
In order to diversify the product range, WELKER SPINTECH was founded in 2004 as sister company of PH. WELKER. New products were developed, such as the SORTIMAT contamination sorter and the ROVEMASTER roving bobbin cleaner. The co- operation with Messrs. SIEGER SPINTECH LTD. in Coimbatore, India was successfully started and we moved out into new facilities.
In 2006 we changed our product range incorporating WELKER conditioning and heat- setting machines into our machine programme. Our structure is based on outsourced manufacturing at renowned German suppliers, whereas engineering, service and development are in our hands.
From India we are able to supply SIEGER&WELKER machines, and in Brazil we manufacture WELKER machines for the local market.
Therefore, we have currently 3 manufacturing bases, namely:
- WELKER machines made in Germany, - WELKER machines made in Brazil, and - SIEGER&WELKER made in India.
Our Fair Engineering Mission:
Fair engineering and management may be defined in such a way as to ensure quality of life while actively managing the dynamics of ecologically relevant elements reducing the risk and scale of undesirable behaviour and results. It is a response to the recognition that the dynamics of major natural systems, namely water cycles and utilisation of energy and natural resources, are increasingly influenced negatively by human activity.
The manipulation of earth systems raises a number of ethical issues that are rooted on the culture of science and technology itself.
Ethical debates are most advanced in regard to the issues raised by genetic engineering. Fortunately, they are growing in areas related to "ecology" due to the visible climate changes in all parts of our planet.
The European Union has implemented the Environmental Directive 2005/ 25/ EG which is a binding regulation for all European producers to observe ecological engineering, improving the saving of natural resources in all manners.
We at WELKER SPINTECH have committed ourselves to a ecological correct approach of our work. We have implemented our “Fair Engineering Mission” to improve our products and raise the awareness of customers and business partners towards a more concerned approach to environmental issues. Our mission statement
“WELKER SPINTECH is a company dedicated to develop innovative technologies under consideration of the ecological balance for the future of next generations”.
reflects our sincere intentions in this field. As first result of our efforts we have introduced in 2006 our ECOTHERM machines and our “ECO” range of products.
Our company is represented in almost all textile countries of the world. Please contact us for more detailed information.
The WELKER history:
1856 - Foundation of Welker in the city of Lambrecht/ Palatinate. At that time, many paper mills and felt makers were active in the Lambrecht valley and Welker started to render mechanical services for these industries.
1936 - First Felt Washing Machine for the Paper Industry. The felt washing is a core activity and Welker was the first company to automate this type of cleaning.
1941 - The world’s first steamer with indirect steam for the worsted industry was created. In war times, textile production was increased due to military demand and the new process shortened the production substantially.
1953 - Roller fulling machines for the felt industry and hammer die cutting machines for the envelope industry. New machines to fulfil demands at that time. 1964 - New patent for hydraulic door, invented by Mr. Schultz (the Schultz protection door). Important step for the automation of loading and unloading the heat- setting machines. This system was broadly copied by all later manufacturers of this type of machines. 1968 - Development of sterilising system and special explosion chamber for luggage checking at airports. The sterilisation process was developed at 144°C for special textile uses. For luggage inspection procedures, explosion proof chambers were delivered to the airports of Munich, Berlin and Brussels.
1972 - Development of transfer printing machine. One of the pioneer machines in transfer printing from paper to polyester, some units were produced but given up because of low demand at that time.
1979 - New fibre shrinking device for SEYDEL. Supply of many units for breaking machines, substituted after some years by further developements. 1981 - First ECO- System steamer with indirect heating. The classic heating system inside the machines (so called indirect steam) needed a lot of energy and customers were not satisfied mainly in the worsted and heat- setting sector.
1986 - First Tow Annealer developed(TOWMASTER)for shrinkage of acrylic fibres. Supply of substantial machines to the largest fibre producers - please see our reference list.
1989 - First glass fibre conditioner for the glueing of twisted yarns. Further supply of these specialised machines to the glass fibre market, keeping the leading position until today.
1992 - Development of RADIAL FLOW SYSTEM. Due to the demand especially of the worsted market, special developement of inserted fan system inside the machines to increase the distribution of air and saturated steam in the machines. Nowadays a standard device for heat- setting high quality yarns.
1998 - Development of rectangular CONDIBOX. Attending the demand of increasing palletisation and automatic pallet transportation, the rectangular CONDIBOX system was developed and introduced to the market, gaining excellent reputation, notably in Europe.
2001 - Development and patent of TURBOCOOLER for higher moisturisation in cotton conditioning, notably DENIM yarns. Especially DENIM manufacturers have decided to implement this pre- cooling system in their plants, with the aim to increase moisturiation before warping.
2001 - Development of Finishing Spray for cooling of heated yarn bobbins. As finishing process, the cooling out of conditioned yarns is supported by this exclusive device. 2002 - New UNIPHASE (HUMIVAC) and MULTIPHASE heating systems. Further developement of the systems and improvement of energy consumption. Development of AUTO- CLEAN device for reduction of maintenance works in the plants.
2002 - New adjustable FLEXMASTER pin trucks. Re- design of trucks with very flexible adjustment of pins, so that diameters can be easily changed in the plants. 2004 - New AQUAMAX spray conditioner developed. Especially for the warm climate countries, this spray conditioner has been developed and is currently under evaluation at several customers.
2004 - Cooperation with SIEGER SPINTECH LTD. In order to increase our market presence in Southeast Asia, we joined forces with our partners, amplifying our scope of products and supply chain.
2004 - New SORTIMAT contamination sorting system introduced to the market. Product developed in cooperation with SIEGER SPINTECH, the new SORTIMAT in the meantime gained important market share in Southeast Asia and has beem also installed in Latin America.
2004 - New ROVEMASTER roving bobbins cleaner developed. Small but effective auxiliary equipment to avoid the damage of bobbins and allow to re- use the raw material in the blowroom. Very popular in countries with low degree of automation.
2005 - New SIEGER&WELKER machines introduced to the market during ITMA SINGAPORE. Introduction of the new brand for machines shipped directly from INDIA. 2006 - New generation of CONDIMAT and CONDIBOX with ECOTHERM technology. Attending increasing concerns of customers, the ECOTHERM technology provides "fair engineering" avoiding the waste of energy and water.
